In-Home Pet Euthanasia in Orange, Los Angeles, & Ventura Counties & San Fernando Valley & San Gabriel Valleys

We believe a pet’s final moments should be gentle and dignified. Offering the option for pets to peacefully “fall asleep” at home, in their favorite spot, surrounded by loved ones, provides a comforting and compassionate farewell. Many pet owners who choose in-home euthanasia appreciate the tranquility it brings and often say they wouldn’t choose any other way. At Hearts & Halos, we aim to give this special experience to as many pet families as possible.

We’re here to accommodate you as best we can. Get in touch with us to talk about your pet’s needs.

What Takes Place During the In-Home Pet Euthanasia Appointment?

The in-home euthanasia visit includes the following steps:

  • First, we provide end-of-life phone or email consultations with our experienced team.
  • Our team will then administer pre-sedation to your pet.
  • Once your pet is fully asleep from the sedation, we will proceed with the euthanasia.
  • Our team will notify your veterinarian after the procedure.
  • If you prefer, the Hearts & Halos team will transport your pet for aftercare.

What to Expect During the Pet Euthanasia Procedure

Before the doctor arrives, it's best to take time to share memories or have private moments with your pet. Gather all your loved ones who wish to be present before our visit to make sure they have time to say goodbye. When our team arrives, they will gently administer a sedative tailored to your pet’s specific needs, helping them relax into a deep sleep.

Once your pet is comfortably sedated, a final injection is given to allow a peaceful passing. This process usually takes just seconds, though it may be slower for very ill or dehydrated pets.

Once the doctor confirms the passing, you may choose to have them take your pet for aftercare, or you can spend more time with your pet and arrange for aftercare later at a location of your choice.
